Christmas day is not the only holiday that Kapampangans are excited about during December, because this month is also the time when they commemorate “Aldo Ning Kapampangan” or Pampanga Day.

Although the province recognizes December 11 as its official foundation day, it has been a tradition to celebrate this event starting the first week on December.

For its 444th Aldo Ning Kapampangan Celebration, the provincial government headed by Governor Lilia Pineda have announced the line-up of activities for the said event which will take place from December 3 to December 11, 2015.

On December 4, the provincial government will hold activities as recognition for the indigenous people, which is also in line with the “Aldo Ning Katutubo” or Aeta Day.

December 5 on the other hand is the “Aldo Ding Ortelano and Aldo Ding Manasan” that will give recognition to the contribution of the Kapampangan farmers and fishermen to the agricultural economy of the province.

It is on December 7 however, where the official kick-off for the “Aldo Ning Kapampangan” will take place which will begin at 5 in the morning with a float para joined by civic military and private groups alike. Culinary and festival presentations will also take place this day.

Also happening is a thanksgiving mass at 7 in the morning, a flag raising ceremony, and a Zumba party, which will be joined by the different townspeople of Pampanga. Finally, a lighting ceremony will take place at the capitol grounds at 6 in the evening followed by a banquet for Pampanga’s local officials at the Pradera Verde located in Lubao, Pampanga.

A job fair by the Department of Labor and Employment will be held on December 9, which is simultaneous with the “Aldo Ding Mangalkal”, “Aldo Ding Barangay Officials”, and finally, a concert featuring Kapampangan youth bands.

December 10 is also a busy day in Pampanga since activities for the “Aldo Ding Overseas Filipino Workers” (OFW Day) will be held. The Kapampangan Beauty will also be highlighted at the most awaited coronation night of the “Mutya Ning Kapampangan”, which will take place on the same day.

Lastly, the “Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards” (MOKA) will happen on December 11 to recognize the contributions of several Kapampangans who made a mark in their different fields.
